Apricots are a small deciduous tree species that are grown commercially in British Columbia in the Okanagan Valley and the Similkameen Valley, the only locations in Canada where this fruit tree is grown.
The apricot often develops into fruit-bearing trees from discarded pits, especially along highways near fruit stands in the Okanagan, Similkameen and along the Fraser and Thompson Rivers.
